It's a really fantastic program that has been recommended time and time again by our neighbors whose older kids now rave about their time at the preschool. They get excited to break out the scrapbooks that were made for them for us to see, it's pretty cute. We may add in an additional "typical" preschool next year but for now, Gabe is a happy camper.
Contrary to his look here, he's actually a big fan of school.
Obviously I'm loving the transition to school, not only because of the time to myself but because this is what I've been waiting for! The art projects and field trips and the back packs and all of it. It's sort of a pat on the back, like yeah we made it this far! It's now up to him and to his teachers to help shape the rest of his life, for him to become his own little person. You know how there's some moms out there who sort of hang on to "their littles" for as long as possible? They don't want them to grow up and leave their safe little cocoon. Well, I think I'm the opposite of that. I am SO excited to see Gabe work out life. Sure, I get sentimental and all that but he's his own person and preschool has just been a major step into figuring out who that person is. I love it.
With all the fun school stuff comes little things I never thought about...like labeling his clothes. The school recommends every single thing be labeled for obvious reasons. I took to the internet to find out opinions from moms on how to handle it...Sharpies or stickers? Iron ons? Sew my own little tags? What worked best?
Well I think I found the answer. And it's Sticky Monkey Labels. They have labels of all shapes, sizes and designs for everything your child owns: clothes, shoes, lunch boxes, etc plus they're great for allergy labeling! They are waterproof and dishwasher/laundry/outdoor safe too. Why did I pick them? Well I liked the option of a simple design that came in a tiny sticker. So many of Gabe's shirts and pants have tiny labels and I wanted something that would easily adhere to them and stay there! These have stayed put through multiple wash and dry cycles.
They have so many options to choose from...you can buy just a few or you can buy a ton and get your kiddo's whole wardrobe taken care of! Visit Sticky Monkey Labels' Etsy Shop here or their website right here. And like them on Facebook too! And get a 10% discount either place using the code SHANNANIGANS. Hurry, it expires 10/31/13!
Sticky Monkey sent me a few sheets of labels to try out and I told them I would give them an honest blog review. So here it is! I like them and recommend them!
