A few months ago, I got a request to work on a bridal shower...a Harry Potter bridal shower. You guys know if there's anything I love planning, it's a totally not normal theme. While Harry Potter parties tend to lean towards Hogwarts' school colors and the dark, gothic look, I tried to play up a bit of the romance from the series. The white candles and owls, that sort of thing. I planned a big dessert table, lots of fun centerpieces and a few little touches here and there. If you follow me on FB and/or Instagram, you were treated to tons of sneak peeks so hopefully you love the end result! The bride to be (and all her guests) did and made all the cutting out of golden snitch wings worth it.
I came up with this one. Clever eh? Ha.
Everyone knows bridal shower games are as fun as sunburns so I stuck with some funny ones. The guests played "Find the Groom" where each had an envelope with a tux-clad HP character inside. The lucky person to find the tux with the actual groom's face on it was the winner! Making this game cracked me up for a really long time.
I surprised my clients with a Womping Willow thumbprint guest book. We instructed the guests to leave their thumbprint and sign it. I used a trusty Staples engineer print to blow this thing up for 2 bucks!
Pretty cool huh? I've said it time and time again but I love my clients and how they trust me to just create awesome things. Thank you Lauren and Michelle & family and congratulations Kelly!
Oh and one more thing, I want to introduce you to Greg. He and I have partnered up to work events. I met Greg through a friend of a friend and he's a super talented photographer. If you're so inclined, head over to this page and give him a FB like. Plus, that's where the sneak peeks happen, ya know. Harry Potter was our first event together and I'm elated with all of the photos he took above. It's a party stylist's nightmare to be in a basement banquet room with no natural light and Greg saved the day. So thank you Greg!
And of course, thank you to my friend/intern Kristen for all her help and my fantastic vendors...
