I wish there was a better name for this painfully obvious craft. Cause nothing says classy like Chicken Wire Frame. So if you have any suggestions on what to call this thing, give a holler. In the meantime, here's how to make your own.
Get your supplies: Chicken Wire ( Lowe's fencing section, around 8 bucks for a shit-ton), staple gun, staples, snips. Oh and your frame. That'd be helpful, wouldn't it?
Stretch out a piece of wire to cover the back of your frame and snip it to size. Some people found it easy to cut the piece then begin stapling but others found it easier to unroll the wire, staple it the frame then cut it before stapling the other side.

Go around the edge and staple it in place. Then take the wires and twist them around each other to make it a bit more secure.
Tuck those wires down. Do a better job than I did if you don't want to scratch up your wall.
And um, that's it. Seriously. It's easy. The hardest part was finding cute little things to hang on it.
You can do this. Then make a chicken coop with your leftover wire. Or a parade float. Whatever floats your boat. Ha!

Very cute! I particularly love the bright yellow frame.
I'm bummed I missed this- I had the date wrong. Totally could have made it. Next time!
What about "funky hexagonal wire memory board"? Nothing says "Hey, I'm a smart and classy broad" more than a crazy word like hexagonal.. right? I mean, it shows you know your basic geometry and can count sides. (Which by the way, I had to count about 5 times to make sure there were six sides because I wasn't sure how to say penatgon in adjective form.) Or, just put vintage in front of it.. and then it's automatic class and trend in one!
I can't wait to try this for our next craft night at the nest!
I love love love these. They've been on my list of things to do for months now...and will probably remain there based on how I operate. But I need to get this done!
Heeeeey! I saw this on Pinterest. Great idea!
Love it!
Question -what do you do on the back to keep the ends of the wires from damaging the wall?
This is awesome.
How about calling it "chicky Picky Thingy" or Chicky Picky Holder"
hahahah I've got to make myself one of these. How handy and perfect for the farm
