A Rustic S'more Bar If You Will

When Bethany and I first started dreaming up plans for Always Bloggy, we decided that no matter what, we'd have a little welcome campfire. Some wine, some s'mores, some blankets, oh it would be adorable. Plus, staring into a fire is a socially acceptable reason for not speaking, should there be any awkward silences. Um, luckily I filled those with my drunken antics, so no worries there. But we decided to cash in on the "serve everything bar-style" trend that is all over the interwebs and do up a s'more bar. Ours is obviously not the first but when we planned the general idea over g-chat 1000 miles away from each other, then rushed around last minute during Gabe's naptime to pull this shit together, we were pretty darn pleased with the results.

Obviously first on our list was to decide a color scheme for the night...I suggested gold, brown, white and raspberry. We then continued to spend more time than necessary narrowing down what color raspberry is exactly.

Jumbo marshmallows look enticing but when it comes down to it, it's almost too much mallow. I know, crazy, eh?

Bethany crafted then packed the adorable signs and garland and flew them out here with her. She chose cutesy crafts over shoes. That's my girl.

Yep, pina colada marshmallows. Delicious by their damn selves. Available in the baking aisle at Target.

So we set this up for the girls then set up some hay bales and chairs around the fire pit and made John get our fire going. We uncorked the wine and set about getting to know each other. The weather even cooperated, getting slightly chilly that night. You couldn't see it, but Bethany and I were mentally checking off everything on our to-do list. This meet-up was actually going according to plan...

Um, this is awesome. The pretties s'mores I've ever seen. Not that they need to be pretty. Ask my thighs.

Shannon, this is FABULOUS! You gals did an amazing job. And I'm just laughing because I just did a post on Gatherings last week about a s'mores bar. I feel like I'm actually right on a trend now. I was mostly excited about peanut butter smores. I like PB on anything. :)

A-freaking-mazing! I just pinned it- my neighbor is having a s'mores party next month, this will be passed on. I also grabbed those German Chocolate marshmallows. Did you see those mint chocolate ones? I tried strawberry over the summer- not great.
