Birthday Sneaks: The Origin of the Gnome

You guys know I love a terrarium, right? I've made fancy ones. I've made tiny ones. Well now I've made awesome ones.  My love for these babies sparked the idea for the gnome theme in the first place. Gnomes practically live in terrariums! So the fact that I wouldn't mind these party decorations hanging around my house after the party ended totally sealed the deal. So I went knocking on my friend Isrut's door. She is a polymer clay sculpey genius. The things she makes in miniature are incredible. I knew she was the sculptor for the job. And a couple days ago, when a box arrived on my doorstep, I found these happy little gnomes, gnome homes, shrooms and woodland creatures all nestled inside. I got right to work.

Dude, I can barely pluck an eyebrow. This girl buckles a gnomes belt. A teeny weeny little belt! So cute!

Thanks Isrut! These have made me very happy. On to the next gnome!

love them!!! I hope you have some photographing this party but it's going to be crazy awesome!!!! You need to enjoy yourself and hand the camera over to someone else. I didn't have nearly as many details at J's party but it was so relaxing knowing someone else was capturing the day.

No freakin' way. Gabe is a lucky boy to have a mom go all out like this for his birthday party. Although I have a sneaking suspicion that you'd have liked to have had a gnome theme for your birthday in June and you're living vicariously:)

I cannot explain to you how upset I am that I am missing this party.

Would it be weird if I showed up in a cocktail dress early just to see everything? ;)
