I almost forgot about this darn thing! Alas, I managed to scrounge up a page for ol' M. Of course, while writing this, I absently asked John what I like that starts with M. He suggested mammaries. Then he remembered it wasn't his encyclopedia. Then he asked me if I liked mammaries. Then I remembered not to ask him for ideas ever again.
Macys -- I've always been a fan of this store. You know why? Because the folks at Macys are a classy bunch. They run a classy store. You can say, "Oh this? I got this at Macys" and people probably think you paid good money for it. But in actuality, pretty much everything in that store is always on sale. And they love clearance sales. And they will clearance nice stuff too, not just the crap nobody wants. And then you take your stuff to the register and it almost always rings up at an even lower price! I swear!
Mermaids -- I think they're pretty. And magical.
Mamma Mia -- I'm no fan of the musical/showtune/Broadway genre. In fact, the only thing I've seen is Cats. And that was on a high school trip and I think my friends and I left to go smoke cigs in Times Square. I'm not even a huge Abba fan. But when this movie came out it captured my dark cold heart. If there was ever a movie I wanted to beam-me-up-scotty into, it would be this one. Picturesque Greek backdrop, gorgeous houses, song and dance routines and wild bachelorette parties? Beam.me.up.
Mustangs -- That particular red Mustang up there? She was a mine. My dad bought her for me when I was 19 and living in Illinois and I drove that thing into the ground. It was kinda cool because that was the year that this style Mustang was released and I was the only one in my Illinois town to have one. So while people had no idea who I was, they recognized my car. I thought myself pretty darn cool. I loved that car and I miss it all the time.
How bout you? Do you want to come over and sing along to Mamma Mia with me?

too funny!
i am the SAME way about mamma mia! musicals annoy me, but i freaking love that one. soundtrack is fabulous.
Well, I just love ABBA. Saw Mamma mia on Broadway with my parents and sister. We are big ABBA fans. Case in point: I danced to Dancing Queen with my father at our wedding (he is the one who turned all 7 kids onto ABBA, his argument being a resounding "THEY SANG ALL THEIR SONGS PHONETICALLY! THEY DIDNT EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH!"). Other case in point, my nickname is Chiquitita. And last case in point, once when driving from DC to NJ, my sister and I almost drove the car off the rode laughing hysterically as we tried to decipher the meaning of "Winner takes it all". Or maybe we were laughing because we also may or may not have changed the lyrics to include references to camel toes (take a look-see at the album art. You'll know what I am talking about).
The simple fact that both my mother AND my mother-in-law loved Mamma Mia guarantees that I will never watch it. I'm with you on Mermaids and Mustangs, though.
