Growing up, I was lucky if any pictures of me were taken. I was the third child of working parents in the early 80's. And although they were both working, it was a struggle to keep the three of us in Catholic school and food on the table. Things like film and film developing costs were pretty much luxuries. Completely unheard of were home movies. Sure, we saw commercials for them on TV but no one I knew had one. So as it is, there are limited photos and zero home movies featuring yours truly. (Geez, it's no wonder I have this incessant need for attention *coughblogcough*) So anyway, when the time came last year for my 30th birthday present, I chose a DSLR with a camcorder option. Best decision ever. I don't have to lug some other piece of equipment around and it's super easy to switch into movie mode. To catch awesome pieces of history like this...
And um, sorry bout the sideways view here, I could not for the life of me figure out how to rotate it.

So clearly Gabe will never have these woes.

*Was this a common saying for you guys growing up? I know I would hear it (and variations) from my parents but I know my bff Kelly associates it with her Nan. That one's for you Kel.

Oh and in other news, I chopped my hair off. Thanks for all your encouragement and many compliments on my mop. But I just couldn't take it anymore. It only looked good after an hour of primping and who's got that kind of time? So without furthur adieu...

OOOOOH! Nice cut! So fresh and so clean, clean!
Love the hair! You look great! :)
I know EXACTLY what you mean - I hardly have any baby photos of myself. I can't believe the lil guy is walking on his own-sort-of already! Wow....
And your hair looks awesome mama!
Thanks pal. A variation of this that she also used was "take a long walk down a short alley." I swear she was a nice grandmotherly woman!
In other news- he seems a little confident, if not cocky, in his new skillz. He might even have a swagger starting to form. Is that little cart thing his equivalent of a '99 stang? haha
cute!
Alright seriously, how good do you feel now that you're all coiffed and sassy? Hawt.
smile!!!!! :)
love those videos - what a cute little bebe!
The hair looks great! I always go in and stay it the cut has to look good with after only 10 min of drying and that it will be in a pony tail by lunch.
Dude, I can't believe how well Gabe is trotting around that place. And the hair. Grayson still has peach fuzz. Good thing he's not a girl I'd be SOL when it came to bows.
What I want to know is, how much harder is it keeping up with him now that he's mobile? I'm dreading it.
LOVE the new do! So flattering! :)
And I can relate to the lack of photos - I was the 2nd child and it was like they had used up all of their film on my sister. LOL
Loving the new hair - you look amazing. So fresh and ready for spring!
Your hair looks amazing! Love it!
And yes, we said that all the time :) That and "I'm rubber and you are glue..." Yup, I was super mature ;)
I was a firstborn, so my poor brother got a little screwed, which we found out when we recently organized my parents' photos.
Love the new 'do. It looks really great on you.
Love the hair Shannon! You look great! And Gabe walkin' and talkin' is just too cute!
VERY CUTE!!! Love the cut.
Okay first off, LOVE the new haircut! And I like how at the end of the first video when he bumps into the chairs he looks back at you like "um, hello, why aren't you fixing this?"
First off, love the haircut! You are rocking it, girlfriend. Second, try being the 7th child. You read that correctly. I am the seventh child. No photographic proof I existed from the day after I was born until I reached school age and school pics were taken.
Secondly, Gabe is on fire! The despot is army crawling and doesn't seem to care he could move faster if he actually moved when he gets up on all fours. Ah well.
Your hair looks gooooooood. I like it. I'm getting sick of my hair too, and am going tomorrow to get it cut a bit shorter. And Gabe is adorbs as always.
Me likey hair. Me also love the "Pier" saying. I don't get to use it very often, but when I do, it is good.
Love, love love the hair! Very chic. And how adorable is Gabe! Love him.
I've been thinking about cutting off my maine as well - when wet it almost touches my ass... gross.
Love the haircut! So cute!!
