Especially when it's your baby's first Easter. We arrived home last night from my aunt's with a tired baby and a trunk full of swag. From wagons and blocks to swimsuits and stuffed animals, Gabe made out like a bandit. Of course, his parents didn't go overboard. We leave that up to everyone else. I picked up a cheapy basket for him in the dollar aisle at target and filled it to the brim...and the brim meant three items.
We gave him a couple books, a new truck, a spiffy new bowtie and some boat shoes. He could have cared less though. He was digging the plastic eggs...
Of course, I didn't fare too bad either. I might have tweeted a little something about wanting to find a shit-ton of Cadbury minis as well as Tina Fey's book in my basket. Luckily the Easter bunny follows me on Twitter because I got exactly what I asked for.
I filled John's with new undershirts, a couple of books and a chocolate orange. I jazzed up a couple of apple bin baskets the night before with some ribbons I had...and used packing tape to attach them. I have zero interest in paying $10+ for a basket I won't be using any other time of year. But apple bins? Totally versatile.
We spent the rest of the day at John's sister's, then off to my aunt's house where once again we played Pass the Baby. This holiday also included lots of showing off our "walking" skills and generally being doted on. There hasn't been a wee babe in some time in my family so Gabe is quite the spectacle. And rightly so. He's a good boy.
I honestly didn't mean to dress us quite so....candy colored? The hot weather surprised us all so outfits had to be switched up last minute.
But not Gabe's outfit. This one was going to be worn come hell or high water. I could not get over the cuteness of tiny madras plaid shirt and of course, his babyAlexPKeaton bow tie tipped the adorbs scales. But I won't lie...kind of hard to keep a bow tie on a baby.
Sorry for all of my photos being half blurry. This is what happens when you're playing photog with a wine glass in one hand, a handful of mini eggs in another and a squirmy babe wanting to be anywhere but in front of the camera. Anyway, we had a great first Easter and it proved once again that holidays are a billion times more fun when wees are involved. I hope you had a great holiday weekend. What did the big wabbit bring you?

We also got N exactly three items from the Target Dollar Spot for her little Easter Basket. She had no idea what was going on, and just wanted out of the dress! And then wanted out when we posed her in pink bunny ears.
Glad to hear it was a great Easter!

Holy cuteness overload!! Seriously Gabe has the cutest smile ever. I love-er the Easter Bunny loves-creating baskets for the girls. They got swimsuits in theirs this year, amongst other things.
This sounds a lot like my easter! This year was my nephew Kevin's first, and we SPOILED HIM ROTTON, like it was xmas, all over again! The kid doesn't even EAT Candy and his basket was filled with lots of treats. Too bad his mommy is on a diet, i guess his dad will enjoy all of the reeses bunnies! ;) Your boy is SUPER CUTE! Love the plaid outfit! And the boat shoes! Oh my goodness, i can EAT HIM!
Okay, too many pictures to comment on!
I thought that Gabe couldn't be any cuter but then you put him in his Easter outfit--oh the bowtie!
I also love the fact that you got Bossypants...and wouldn't turn it down if you wanted to send it to me when you got done with it :). I have only heard good things and can't wait to get your book report on it. I do have to say that I watch 30 Rock and love all the Lemonisms :)
This almost makes me need another kid...
Three Easter baskets and a sugar-high later, I couldn't agree with you more! Becks woke up yesterday morning, and the first words we heard on the monitor were: MOMMY?! DID THE EASTER BUNNY COME?!
Gabe looks awful precious, btw! Love that little bowtie!
The Easter Bunny brought me my family-in-law and little 1 year old Joseph, and they were SOOOO FUN! :)
Your hair, by the way, is SO AMAZINGLY AWESOME!!!!
BABYINABOWTIE!!!
Oh gosh, I don't know what's cuter the giant ears, bunny butt or plaid with bow tie.
man.. I have never gotten an easter basket before! Obviously I am missing out. Sometimes being jewish stinks! :) P.S. Gabe is adorable as ever!
Addy received the same Some Bunny Loves Me outfit from her favorite aunt (me). (The pink version.) Gabe is pretty cute in it, too.
Looks like a stellar day!
I tried to make JEGs and Easter basket and he said "it makes me feel like you're my mom".
Sexy level down to ZERO. Never attempting that again.
My SIL puts my nephew in a sweater vest and bow tie every year. He's three this year, and I'm thinking it's only going to last a little bit longer and this makes me sad. I love bow ties on little boys.

Those Easter pj's are TOO cute! Looks like he had an awesome first Easter!
Oh. em. gee. These pictures are out of control cute!! Could Gabe possible be any cuter? Love the chunk arms and wrist rolls, doesn't get any better than that!
