If anytime of year calls for tightening the ol pursestrings, it's this one. II have been on a roll lately, saving money left and right. Not spending all over the place. Look at me go! So in case you forgot my awesome, super original (totally) money-saving tips like this one and this one, I have another one. And although I did a huge majority of my shopping online this year and scored free shipping, somehow I've found myself in Target no less than 4 times in 3 days. I know that 98% of you are probably as obsessed with Target as I am. And that the call of that little red sticker is a strong one. Experts say you should only buy things on sale if you would buy them at full price. I used to throw things in my cart willy-nilly. Willy nilly I say! But not anymore. I really do try to ask myself that question when I creep up on every clearance section in my happy place...would i buy this at its regular price? Responsible Shannon says no to red-stickered candles and random thank you notes. She says yes to things like work shirts for John...
and hell yes to .58 spaghetti sauce! And I actually use that brand too! Dude, and Manwich Bold is where it's at. I love a good sloppy joe but one with a kick? Even better. And although I wasn't sure what made these items get moved to the clearance rack, I didn't ask any questions. I probably told 15 people that I got 36 cent soup that week. It's the little things these days.
and when it comes to Christmas shopping for my baby boy? $1.58 shirts? You bet. And the ridiculously overpriced Dwell clothing line, the one with the robots? Only getting bought on clearance. Sorry for all the questions. I get really excited looking at these deals I already got.
So that's the way we're shopping these days. It gives me the zing! of shopping that I miss without breaking the bank. Johns everywhere are sighing in relief. So how bout you guys, get anything good at Target for a ridic low price? I know you wanna brag about it.
Oh and did you guys know about the Amazon Mom program? You don't even have to be a mom to join and you get Amazon Prime benefits. That's free 2 day shipping. Booya. If you order today, you'll have that ish by Friday. Just google it and sign up.

Oh yes. I've been so tempted by the red stickers...until I realize that they've only been marked down one dollar. Then that filth goes back on the shelf.
Although, I totally scored a red cake stand three weeks ago from Target for.......$3. Yes. Seriously. I was jumpin' for joy! :)
Ok, so you know I have a slight boycott on Target. I'm still upset about The Remodel Incident of 09.
However, I do get my prescripts from the Tarz-- which is right next to the hair dye. And I might have had a coupon. And I might have gotten a box of hair dye for under a dollar.
Can we still pretend like this is my natural color and I don't dye it because I'm already going grey?

shannon - that's great advice about only buying it on clearance if you'd buy it at full price. i go crazy over the red stickers and half the time get home thinking wth did i just buy?
btw - been using amazon prime for 8 months now (they gave me a free trial!) the fedex and ups men hate me and my dogs know the sound of their trucks. I also use their monthly diaper delivery service bc you get an additional 15% off amazon's already lowest diaper prices. love it!
Ahhh I love a good Target clearance deal! I'm LOL'ing at the manwich - score! :) We've gotten so many deals on clothes for the boys there. I think our most recent super deal were two thick sweatshirts with cozy fleecy lining (you know, like sheep's wool) for $4 each and the boys LOVE them. Our closest Target is 30 minutes away and that is probably a good thing for our checking account. :)
You are a money saving machine! Lately, when it comes to clothing, I have been living with the motto "if it isn't perfect, then it's not worth the money." Very similar to your grand plan too!
haha! How many cups of coffee did you have before writing this post, or were you still on a shopping high?
I think its been at least two years since I've set foot in a target.
I wish I had one...or a car.
I do so love Target. My Target had the Christmas decor on 50% yesterday as well as some frames. I scored the reindeer I've been watching for the past few weeks half price! That place is addictive. :)
Love me some red stickers, girl! Esp when they're for 75% off prices :)
Also, I just joined Amazon Mom and got free shipping on 50% off Melissa and Doug cutables for Christmas for Becks!
Dude- thanks for the Amazon Mom tip. I LOVE Amazon- I want to put the whole site on my wish list.
It's so tempting to get those shirts and kitchen items. I can't even tell you how many times I wander over to the clearance racks during a trip to Tarjay...too many.
I only buy the Dwell stuff on clearance, too... but it's so cute that I can't help but snag it then.
Target makes me want to use exclamation points, too!
And I just picked up a 20 dollar tunic for my sister for 4.98. When I get a deal like that, I like to tell Mr. Kinne, "It's practically free!" He, surprisingly enough, does not see the logic in this.
I love those red little stickers from Target. I look for those ALL the time!!!
