This week over at the DIY Blog Party the theme is Dare to Entertain. Since we won't be hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year, or any year if I have my way, I decided to go a little bit of a different route. I decided to throw some things together on the buffet on the off chance that a large group of people would stop by and demand that I cook a turkey dinner for them. A group so large that it would necessitate a gun rack buffet-style dinner.
My main inspiration came from the adorable little wooden cubby I scored at the thrift store for 3 bucks. I thought it would look really cute overflowing with pinecones, as well as the napkins & silverware. So after spending the $3, everything else got pieced together from my stash. I stacked some chargers & plates atop an old piece of burlap, threw some glittery fruit around, then brought out the most important part of any family gathering...the booze.
So now I'm prepared for any unexpected, hungry mobs to show up at my door. In fact, I invite you all to show up at my door...but only if you're bringing me pie.

I love pinecones. You should see the beasts that fall from the tree around the corner from my house. They're insane. I collected some for the wedding.

OMG you got that adorable wooden cubby for $3?!?! I hate you. Sorry, that was harsh-I don't really hate you I am just super jealous. Other people always find this bomb-azz stuff at thrift stores and I'm not usually that lucky. Your set-up looks great!
